Terms of use
Last updated 2026-11-01
1. Acceptance of terms
These terms form an agreement between you and Jacob Oakley, who operates Calmr in the United Kingdom. You accept these terms by ticking the box when you create an account, and by using Calmr. You confirm that you are at least 13 years old.
2. Account responsibilities
Each account is for use by one user only, and you are responsible for all activity under it. Please keep your password secure and notify us promptly if you believe someone else has accessed your account.
3. Your content and licence
You retain full ownership of all content you add to Calmr. You grant Calmr only the permission necessary to store, sync and display your content to you, for example when exporting a chapter as a PDF. This permission ends when you delete the content or your account.
4. Calmr's code, design and branding
Calmr and its source code are proprietary and private. Copyright © 2026 Jacob Oakley. All rights reserved. You may use the Calmr app and service under these terms, but you may not copy, modify, distribute, sublicense, sell or host Calmr's code, design or branding without written permission. To ask for permission, contact
[email protected].
5. Connected email accounts
If you connect an email account, you authorise Calmr to sign in to it with the password you give us, or the access you grant on Microsoft's sign-in page, and to read your mail and send replies and forwards you write, on your behalf, only for what you ask Calmr to do. You confirm that the account is yours, or that you are allowed to connect it. You remain responsible for your mail provider's own terms, for keeping the account's password or sign-in up to date in Calmr, and for any use of the account.
Mail availability depends on your provider and the connection to it. We do not guarantee that your mail will always load, or that it will be complete, and Calmr is not a backup of your mail. Please keep your mail with your provider.
6. Acceptable use
When using Calmr, you agree not to:
use Calmr for any unlawful purpose, or store content you do not have the right to store
attempt to access other users' accounts or data
probe, overload or disrupt the service, or attempt to circumvent its limits
resell or redistribute the service
use a connected email account to send spam, bulk or unsolicited messages, or to harass or deceive anyone
If an account breaches these terms, we may suspend it. We will explain the reason for the suspension unless we are prevented from doing so by law or for reasons of safety.
7. Medical disclaimer
Calmr helps you track aspects of your daily life, including your health, but it is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice. Ranges such as the NHS home blood pressure ranges and BMI bands are shown for information only. They are not a diagnosis, and Calmr cannot tell you whether a reading or a weight is safe for you. Please consult a qualified professional about your health, never ignore symptoms because of what Calmr shows, and call 999 in an emergency. Do not rely on Calmr for any reminder where missing it could put you at risk, including a reminder to take medication or to ask for more. Stock counts and run-out dates are estimates from what you record.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
Calmr is under active development, and its features may change or be withdrawn over time. Although we take great care to protect your data and keep the service available, Calmr is provided on an "as is" basis, without any guarantee that it will be continuously available or free from errors. We therefore recommend retaining your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Calmr is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for any loss of data that could not have been prevented by reasonable care. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of Calmr is limited to the greater of £100 and the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot legally be limited, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
10. Subscriptions and payment
Calmest is an optional paid plan. Its price, renewal, cancellation and refunds are set out on our
payments and refunds page, which forms part of these terms.
11. Termination
You may stop using Calmr and delete your account at any time from the
Account page.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last revised. If we make significant changes, we will notify you by email before they take effect.
13. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. However, you may bring a claim in the courts of the part of the United Kingdom in which you live.
